Why use shaving soap instead of shaving cream?

Our shave soaps are a combination of essential oils, natural butters and goats milk which cleanse, nourishes, and protects your skin. Where as shaving creams generally just foam.

How long does a shaving soap last ?

Each shaving soap will last around 6-12 months with daily use. If you notice you’re running low, just order a refill. And if you have purchased the Stuga shaving bowl, just pop the new soap in and away you go.

Why use a handmade shaving brush?

A handmade shaving brush is something that once you use one, you’ll never go back. The bristles distribute and lather the soap more easily, it helps to soften and lift the hair for an easier shave, as well as cleansing and exfoliating the skin.

Do you have a physical store that I can visit?

We are based at The Rocks Market Sydney every Friday night, Saturday and Sunday plus, most public holidays or special occasions.

What’s the difference between beard oil and beard balm, and why should I use either of them?

Beard oil moisturises the skin under your beard which can reduce dandruff, as well as softening and conditioning the beard hair. This can add body and keep your beard looking full, smooth and soft to the touch.
Beard balm offers mild styling so you can control any unruly hairs that refuse to be tamed by oil. It works by coating the hair to keep the oil locked in, making it feel soft and smooth to touch.

Are your shaving kits suitable for ladies?

Yes! All our shaving kits are suitable for anyone who shaves. We’re starting to see an increase in women switching over to safety razors in order to ditch the plastic. All our shaving soaps are cruelty free with no nasties added, plus the tins are recyclable or reusable.

Is it safe to shave all areas of my body?

The key to using a safety razor to shave the delicate areas of your body is to take your time. Use a Stuga shave soap to create a lather to protect and moisturise your skin. If you’re shaving your bikini area, pull the skin taut and shave in the direction your hair grows – it can sometimes be easier to squat down whilst doing it. Hold the razor at a 30 degree angle and only try to avoid applying too much pressure.

Double Razors compared to Disposable - How do they compare ?

Double edge safety razors are sharper, they last longer, are better for your skin and give you a better shave than their disposable counterparts.

Leather Goods

Where does your leather come from?

All our leather is ethically sourced from Australian tanneries. The leather we use is a sub-product of the meat industry, as well as being sourced and produced with high environmental and ethical practices. This is better for the planet and for the finish, creating longer-lasting, better-quality products.

Do you use Genuine Leather?

Genuine Leather is actually the lowest grade and quality which is why we don’t use it in any of our products. We ONLY use Full Top Grain leather sourced from Australian tanneries. This includes Australian made kangaroo and bovine leather.

We strive to make classic, simple, well designed leather goods using premium quality leather. This ensures that they stand the test of time in looks, function, and use.

Shipping

Do you offer free postage?

We offer FREE regular Australian postage with any order to the value of $70 or more. This will include discounted express Australian postage.

Who do you ship with?

All orders are shipping via Australia Post.

Do you deliver internationally?

We deliver all around the world. Prices are dependent on country and size of order. We offer all international postage at a discounted rate compared to other sellers.

Orders

When will my order be dispatched?

This differs, depending on which product you’ve ordered but you’ll receive a shipping notification as soon as it has. Please remember that most of our leather goods and timber wares are handmade to order so we ask that you allow up to 2 weeks before they are dispatched.

I haven’t received a shipping notification?

If you’re a new customer, please check your junk or spam folder as sometimes it can be sent straight to that. If it’s not there, double check your account to check you ordered using the right address, or get in touch to see if we can help.

What do I do if my order is missing an item or an item is wrong?

As everything we do is handmade and packed to order, sometimes mistakes can be made. If you are missing anything please email us and we will endeavour to sort it out as quickly as we can. 

What happens if something is faulty?

Everything we make comes with a lifetime guarantee, so please get in touch with us and we will work with you to resolve the issue.

Payment Options

How can I pay?

We accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express debit or credit cards. You can also pay using PayPal, Zip Pay or AfterPay. If you’ve paid using a debit or credit card, or AfterPay, the payment will be taken immediately. If you use PayPal, it can sometimes take a few hours to be debited from your account, however the order will be treated as if payment has been taken.

Is there a minimum spend?

There is no minimum spend across the site.

Is the site secure and are my details safe?

Yes! Our site is regularly updated to ensure the latest security certificates. All financial information is stored via trusted card processors.

Returns and Refunds

Can i return items?

Due to the nature of our products, once an item is used we are unable to accept returns. However if you have an issue or concern, please contact us and we will try our best to accommodate your issue.
