Handmade Australian shaving and perfume — crafted by hand in our Southern Highlands studio.

I'm Nick. I make every Stuga product by hand in my Moss Vale studio — from the perfume blending to the shaving soap batching to the timber turning on the lathe. Nothing is mass-produced. Nothing is outsourced. Nothing is rebranded from somewhere else.

Stuga has built its following the slow way — through The Rocks Markets in Sydney, our permanent display at Dirty Janes in Bowral, and steady organic growth online. Now I'm looking for a small number of retail partners who care about the same things I do: real materials, real craft, and a real story behind what they sell.

Why a Southern Highlands maker matters

The Highlands has a long quiet reputation for craft — slow food, cool-climate produce, antique trade, timber work, fine ceramics. Buyers come up the Hume looking for what they can't find in the cities, and shop owners up here know what real handmade looks like. Stuga belongs to that tradition.

It's actually made here. Not "designed in Australia, made in China." Every soap is poured in Moss Vale. Every brush is turned on a lathe ten metres from where I'm typing this. Every perfume is blended, decanted, and labelled by one person in one studio. The Highlands climate — cool, dry, stable — happens to suit fragrance work and natural soap-making well, which is one of the reasons I'm here.

The maker is the supplier. No distributors, no sales reps, no wholesale chain. When you stock Stuga, you're talking directly to the person who made what's on your shelf. If you need testers, restocks, or a custom run for a specific event, that conversation happens with me — not a help desk.

Visit the studio. Moss Vale is an easy day trip from Sydney or Canberra. Stockists are welcome to come out, smell the full perfume range, see the workshop, and choose what fits your shop in person. Most of my best stockist relationships started with a coffee at the bench.
