Australian Made Grooming Products
Australian Made. Handcrafted in the Southern Highlands.
Every Stuga product is made by hand in a small workshop in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales. Not assembled. Not packaged. Made — from raw ingredient to finished product, under one roof.

What "Australian Made" Actually Means Here
It's easy to slap "Australian owned" on a label and import everything from overseas. We don't do that.
Stuga products are formulated, blended, poured, cut, cured, hand-turned, assembled, and packed in our workshop. The oils in our beard oil and balm — sweet almond, macadamia, apricot kernel — are Australian-sourced. The beeswax in our balm and moustache wax comes from local apiaries. The timber in our shaving brushes and bowls is hand-selected and turned on a lathe by hand — Tasmanian Huon Pine, Australian Red Mallee, Teak, Walnut, Beech, and Ash.
When we say handcrafted, we mean one person made it. Not a production line. Not a contract manufacturer. One set of hands, start to finish.
What We Make
Everything falls into four categories. All of it is made here.
Beard Care
Our full beard and moustache range includes beard oil, styling balm, wash blocks, combs, grooming caddies, and complete kits. Every oil and balm is blended fresh to order in your choice of scent — or unscented if you prefer. Australian sweet almond oil, macadamia oil, apricot kernel oil, and vitamin E. No mineral oil. No silicones. No synthetic fillers.
Traditional Shaving
The shaving range is where the woodworking happens. Every brush handle is hand-turned on a lathe from solid timber — no injection moulding, no veneer, no MDF. Shaving bowls are turned the same way, shaped to hold a soap puck and double as a lathering bowl. Stands and razor rests are 3D-printed in-house from durable matte polymer. Soaps are poured, cut, and cured in small batches.
The timber species we use — Tasmanian Huon Pine, Teak, Walnut, Beech, Ash, Olive Wood — are chosen for their grain character, water resistance, and feel in the hand. No two handles are exactly alike. That's not a marketing line, it's just what happens when you turn wood by hand.

Why Australian Made Matters for Grooming
It's not about patriotism. It's about what ends up on your skin.
Mass-produced grooming products are optimised for shelf life, shipping cost, and margin. That means synthetic preservatives, cheap filler oils, artificial fragrance, and formulations designed to survive twelve months in a warehouse. They work well enough. They're not great.
Small-batch production changes the equation. We blend oils fresh when you order — not six months before. We use carrier oils that actually absorb and condition, not mineral oil that coats the surface and does nothing. We can offer triple-strength scent options because we're not trying to hit a price point for a supermarket chain.
Shorter supply chains mean fresher ingredients, less waste, and a smaller footprint. Everything ships direct from the workshop to your door. No distributor warehouse. No retailer markup. No sitting on a shelf.

The Workshop
Stuga recently moved into a new studio at the Red Fields Rd Commercial Estate in the Southern Highlands of NSW — about 90 minutes south of Sydney. This is where every product is made: oils blended, soaps poured, timber turned, stands printed, kits assembled, and orders packed.
It's a one-person operation at its core. That limits scale but guarantees quality control. Every bottle, every brush, every tin goes through the same hands. If something isn't right, it doesn't ship.
If you're local or passing through the Highlands, you're welcome to drop into the studio. See how things are made, pick something up in person, or just have a look around. No appointment needed — no shipping wait either.
A small number of items in our range — such as safety razors and replacement blades — are sourced from specialist manufacturers rather than made in-house. Everything else on this page is handcrafted by us in the Southern Highlands.
