The top of the range. Silver-tip badger is the finest grade made — tips like silk, with just enough spring to whip up a cloud-dense lather with almost no effort. Turned onto a handle by hand in Moss Vale, this is the brush you buy once and keep for life.
At a glance
The bristle
Silver-tip is the softest, most water-hungry grade of badger hair there is — the top of the ladder above Essentials, Synthetic and Premium. It holds far more water than a firmer knot, so it turns a good soap into a dense, protective lather for almost no work on your part. It's also the slowest bristle to fade: cared for simply, a silver-tip knot outlasts most razors, blades and habits — a decade or more of daily shaves from the one brush.
Every handle is turned by hand from solid timber in Moss Vale, then sealed against moisture so it can live by the basin and deepen in colour over the years. No two are exactly alike.
Choose your handle
Same silver-tip knot, your choice of timber.
Before you choose: the images on this page are a reference only. Every handle is shaped by hand from a different piece of wood, and because of the nature of timber your brush will look quite different to the photos — different grain, different figure, different colour. That variation is the point of buying handmade. If you'd like to see what's actually on the bench before you order, get in touch and I'll send you photos of the real pieces.
Olive Wood
Wild figureWild, swirling grain — no two pieces remotely alike.
Teak
Warm & evenWarm and golden, with a straight, even grain that wears like iron.
Huon Pine
Rare TasmanianRare, pale and fine-grained, naturally fragrant — a prized Tasmanian timber.
Heartwood Huon Pine
Dense & stone-likeCut from the heartwood — the dense, oil-rich core of the log. It's noticeably harder and heavier in the hand than general Huon, close-grained enough to take an almost stone-like polish, and it carries the fragrance more strongly. Some pieces come through knotted and figured, some are clean and quiet: you're paying for the density, not the pattern. Ask before ordering and I'll send photos of what's on the bench.
