The modern choice — and the vegan one. High-grade synthetic fibre that's velvet-soft, springs back fast and dries in a fraction of the time of animal hair. No break-in, low fuss, kind to sensitive skin. All the ritual, none of the badger.

Made to be kept

It's a properly nice thing to own — vegan synthetic on a hand-turned timber handle, or clean matte-black polymer. Made by hand in Moss Vale, it's a cruelty-free brush that makes a thoughtful gift: add a name to a timber handle and it's properly personal.

Choose your handle

Choose a handle turned by hand in Moss Vale in teak or olive wood — or clean matte-black polymer, light and completely waterproof.

  • TeakWarm and golden, with a straight, even grain that wears like iron.
  • OliveWild, swirling figure — no two pieces remotely alike.
  • Matte black polymerLight, modern and fully waterproof — our most low-fuss handle.

No two timber handles are alike — the one you receive is one of one.

Custom engraving

Add initials, a name or a short message to any timber handle — just choose "Custom Engraving (+$20)" when you pick your handle. A nice touch if it's a gift. Timber handles only (not polymer).

Why it works

  • Advanced synthetic bristle — soft, resilient and remarkably quick-drying
  • Cruelty-free and vegan — no animal hair, no compromise on lather
  • Whips soap and cream into a rich, protective lather from the first stroke
  • No break-in period — ready the day it arrives, easy on sensitive skin
  • Made by one person in Moss Vale

How to build a great lather

New to a shaving brush, or buying for someone who is? A rich lather takes about a minute — and synthetic is the easiest place to learn.

  1. Wet the brush in warm water for a few seconds while you wet your face — synthetic needs no long soak.
  2. Load the brush — swirl it over your shaving soap for 15–20 seconds, until the brush is full of soap.
  3. Build the lather, working the brush in circles and adding a few drops of water at a time until it turns thick and glossy. You'll get a richer, more even lather in a bowl — there's room to whip air through it.
  4. Swirl and strike it back and forth across your face to lay down a slick, protective layer, then shave. Rinse the brush, shake it out and stand it bristles-down on the Wave to dry.

Questions, answered

Is synthetic as good as badger?
For lather, yes — many can't tell the difference. It dries faster and needs less care; badger holds a touch more water and has the traditional feel.
Is it cruelty-free and vegan?
Yes — no animal hair at all, just high-grade synthetic fibre.
Is it good for sensitive skin?
Very. Soft tips, no break-in, and it rinses clean every time.
Does it shed or need breaking in?
No break-in needed, and a good synthetic knot doesn't shed — it's ready the day it arrives.
Where do the bristles come from?
Our bristles come from the traditional heartlands of wet-shaving — the United Kingdom, China and Germany — through trusted suppliers we've worked with for over 15 years. Every brush is then made, finished and packed by hand in Moss Vale.

Clean, conscious, quietly brilliant — tradition, brought up to date.
