The forgiving first razor. If you’re coming off a five-blade cartridge and worried about nicks, start here — the WÖLFE 97 is a classic three-piece double-edge razor whose ~97g of weight does the work for you. No need to press, far less chance of catching yourself while you learn.
The weight does the work
That heft is the whole point. The 97 sits heavy and balanced in the hand, so gravity sets the pressure — you just guide it. Three pieces, nothing to break: cap, base, handle. Rinse it, reload it, done.
And the part nobody tells you: a good razor matters more than an expensive blade. The 97’s geometry gives a smooth, comfortable shave even on cheap blades — so grab a variety pack, find the one you like, and never feel locked in.
~97g of balanced weight presses for you, so you don’t. Less pressure, fewer nicks — the easiest safety razor to learn on.
Which WÖLFE is right for you?
Two razors, both $59, both take standard DE blades. The only difference is feel and how you load them.
Three-piece · ~97g · matte black. The weight does the work — the most forgiving choice, and the best first razor.
Butterfly twist-to-open · ~75g · chrome. Lighter feel, fast blade changes.
How to load it
- Unscrew the handle and lift off the top cap.
- Sit a fresh DE blade on the base posts, then screw the cap back down until snug.
- Shave at about 30° with no pressure — let the weight do it. Swap the blade every 5–7 shaves.

Questions, answered
- Is the WÖLFE 97 good for beginners?
- It’s the most forgiving razor we stock. The weight removes the urge to press — which is what causes most nicks.
- Does it come with blades?
- No — razor body only. Pair it with a DE blade pack; a variety pack is the best way to find your favourite.
- What blades fit?
- Any standard double-edge (DE) blade — every brand is the same size.
- Should I get the 97 or the 75?
- New to safety razors? The 97’s weight is more forgiving. Want fast blade changes and a lighter touch? Go the 75.
- How do I get rid of used blades?
- Drop them through the slot of the Blade Bank — sealed, can’t spill, and you recycle the steel when it’s full.
